There’s no sugar-coating it: Canada is as uninspiring as possible right now.
The weather is freezing with a side of icy, there’s nowhere to go but another zoom class, and life feels like it’s been on hold for WAY too long.
When, oh WHEN, will it end??
It’s enough to drive a girl to check in with both her shaman AND her astrologist. You heard me right. This is the Acorn’s first Cosmic Report!
The Cosmic Report
While the present time in history may feel like an uphill slog, some of the cosmic goodies I’ve gleaned this past week may help to put it all into perspective. (If you would prefer nutrition and lifestyle tips, it will have to wait until the next post, I’m sorry to say).
The interesting news, universally speaking, is that our current chaotic reality signals the beginning of a new era, according to astrologists and seers.
Enter the Age of Aquarius, personified by rebirth and renewal. With a few cataclysmic bumps along the way, old norms are being brushed aside to make way for fresh ideas.
Every two thousand years, give or take, we transit into something completely different. Lucky us - that time is now!
“The age of Aquarius symbolizes a break from previously established traditions, thereby allowing for new and unusual ideas to flow more freely and for new pathways to emerge… (we’re experiencing) a strong desire for collective change”
The Interesting News
This has a distinct ring of truth, does it not? After all, in a very short period of time, we’ve experienced a pandemic, a climate crisis, #metoo, black lives matter, all lives matter (editorial sidebar from yours truly, but I digress).
It’s worth mentioning that this era was predicted BEFORE all these events came to pass.
We’ve witnessed a continuous (and continuing) rollercoaster of events aimed at tearing down outdated systems, values, and cultures. If we survive it - physically and psychologically - we’re in for a renaissance.
This metamorphosis goes well beyond your own backyard.
“Aquarius is all about collective responsibility. We will hopefully be learning how to be part of a larger system, as opposed to just caring about oneself and our immediate family. This is one of the most important lessons that we’ll need to learn”
The Hard Part
For this universal shift to occur, we can’t just check out and watch Netflix. And, of course, nothing will magically happen overnight (though I really, really wish it would end tomorrow).
Lasting change requires a good dose of soul searching - both on the micro and the macro level.
This is a time for digging deep and asking the hard questions. What do you want from life? What relationships are no longer serving you? How will you shuffle the deck when life reopens?
It’s time to pry open this can of worms.
A Final Piece of Good News
I’ve saved the best for last.
2022 is a time that will bring big love to everyone – after we get through the first two months of the year. Then, we can look forward to shifts and changes that open us up to radical self-love and care, as well as our hearts to others.
So, greater connection with others, a renaissance in how humans behave towards one another and the planet, the end of outdated traditions, and in general, a better way of being.
If this all comes to pass, in our lifetime and beyond, the last two years may just be worth it 🌿
Your personal outlook in the year ahead (c’mon, you know you’re a little bit curious).
